What the site is
Girl on the Net is an English-language sex blog with a free erotic audio library and a free archive of written sex stories going back to 2011, with no paywall on either. The about page says the audio project "now provides a huge bank of aural smut that's completely free to access", and the blog's own title line calls the writing "Sexy stories, mostly true".
The writer is a sex blogger who signs as Girl on the Net, shortened to GOTN, and stays anonymous on purpose: the FAQ says "I'm anonymous" and asks anyone who thinks they know her to keep quiet. The about page describes her as "Professional sex blogger, audio porn producer and pervert", and the home page calls her "a London-based sex blogger" who began blogging in September 2011. Beside real-life sex stories and "occasional horny fiction", the blog covers feminism, consent, online dating tips, mental health and the business of sex blogging. The home page asks visitors to "consider this whole site NSFW".
The free audio and story library
The audio project is the part most visitors come for. The about page says it has been producing "ethical audio porn" since 2017 and that, as of 2023, it is "by far the most visited section" of the site. It started when blind website users told the writer that erotica read aloud by screen-reader software, in "robotic tones", did not work for them and asked her to record stories instead. The about page sums up the result as "Six years, dozens of contributors and hundreds of stories" and gives the project's aim as sharing as much erotica as possible "while also paying creators" and showcasing other sex writers. The site gives no exact total for the library.
Audio sits inside the same category system as the written posts. The "Browse by category" sidebar lists Featured audio porn, Popular audio porn and Guest Audio, so a listener can go straight to the featured recordings, the popular ones or the work of guest voices. The written side runs under Boys I've had, Girls I've had, Filthy ones, Guest contributions, Ranty ones, Sex blog advice, The human body and Unsolicited advice. A sponsored category appears on some pages.
The archive is long and open. Its month list starts in September 2011 and runs without a gap to October 2026, a search box sits in every sidebar, and a Random Post block serves one post at a time for anyone who wants to wander. Posts show a date, a category and a teaser with a "Read" link, and the subscribe box promises alerts "when new posts go live (2-3 times per week)". A "Browse pictures" link in the sidebar leads to the site's illustrations; the FAQ credits most of the art to one illustrator and says image rights stay with the artist. Posts carry reader comments, and the about page invites more of them "below the line".
For women and couples, the appeal is in the voice and the framing. This is a woman writing explicit, first-person material about her own desire, joined by guest writers and guest readers, and the about page frames the project around challenging sex stigma, "introducing readers/listeners to horny new perspectives" and showing "the variety and beauty of human sexuality". The Girls I've had category and the guest audio broaden it beyond one perspective.
Guest writing is a real route in. Guest blogs run under Guest contributions, and a reply on the contact page says the pitches that land are "the ones with an interesting perspective or a sexy story". Writers who want to voice or write for the audio project are told to subscribe and get in touch during a commissioning round, so audio is commissioned rather than an open upload.
Where free stops, and the rules
The blog and the audio stay free. The paid side is a Patreon, described as a way to support the free work: the about page says patrons "get a tonne of bonus content", and for those who cannot pay it says "please don't worry", because that funding and sponsors keep "both the blog and the audio porn free for you". The FAQ adds that patrons get votes on which posts become audio next and can suggest story ideas during Zoom hangouts, with anything made that way published to the whole Patreon audience rather than sent privately. As of October 2026 the FAQ describes the higher tiers this way: "$30 patrons get to put forward requests which I will take on for new posts", and "$50 patrons get my guarantee that their question will be answered or a bit of flash fiction written to their specific tastes". The same FAQ, read in October 2026, says guest bloggers are paid £20 per post.
Advertising and shopping fund the rest. The FAQ says "Ad space is very limited (to make sure your ads have impact!)", promises advertisers a minimum of 90,000 pageviews per month, and asks readers who want to help to "Click on the adverts and/or buy sex toys", because the site relies on that money "to keep this site running". The FAQ also says the blog does not accept paid guest posts or sponsored content in place of editorial choice. A Sex toys page in the main menu lists recommended products and says its links go to "sponsor companies or affiliates". The menu also carries a notice headed "No audio? Here's why".
The site describes no account or sign-in for reading or listening, and it does not describe a takedown process. Its contact route is an email address on the contact page, and the FAQ asks people to read it before writing, says work and media emails get answered within working hours GMT, and turns down requests for custom private stories or audio.
Who it suits, and who it does not
Girl on the Net suits a listener who wants free erotic audio with a clear point of view, and a reader who likes personal, explicit writing with commentary alongside. It is a good fit for someone who listens rather than reads, which is the reason the audio exists, and for a woman or a couple after erotica written from a woman's side. Writers with a pitch have a paid guest route.
It does not suit someone after video, or after a big searchable catalog with theme filters: the search is a single box and the categories are broad. Much of the blog is opinion, including posts on consent and on sex in the news, so a visitor who wants only fiction will skip a lot. The library's size is described in words rather than a count.
The strength is the audio project itself: years of recorded erotica from many contributors, open to anyone without an account, funded by readers who choose to pay so that everyone else does not have to.
