What the site is
EroticStories.com is a free English-language archive of erotic fiction, and its home page headline says so directly: "Free erotic stories, sex stories and romantic stories for your reading pleasure!" The welcome calls it "erotic literature intended for an adult audience" and says the site offers "stories for both straight and gay men, and possibly some stories will also be interesting for women (either straight or lesbian, because we also offer several stories about lesbian women)." The stories are the free part; pictures and video belong to a paid FanClub. The copyright line, "(C) Copyright 1999-2026 Artware Internet Consultancy", names the company behind it, and the menu footer credits the site's own StoryEngine software with "© 2000-2026 - Artware Internet Consultancy".
The free offer
A visitor picks a side on the home page from two large entry buttons, "Straight / lesbian stories" and "Gay (male / male) stories", and lands in the main menu. From there a section bar switches the whole archive between four sections: "fm: Straight mm: Gay ff: Lesbian bi: Bisexual". Each section has the same set of tools, so a reader of gay fiction or of stories between women browses a section built for that readership rather than a filter on a mixed list.
Within a section there are several ways into the stories. Categories gives "An overview of the different story categories". New stories is "A list of the most recently added stories". Top stories ranks "The best scoring stories on vote, times read etc.", so readers' votes and read counts decide what rises. Authors is "A list of all contributing writers and their stories", which makes it easy to read everything by one writer, and Interviews carries "Interviews with popular authors on this site". Search looks for "a story based on keyword, author or date added", so a reader can pull up one writer's work or everything added in a given period without paging through a category.
The site is built around its writers and its readership. Author tools is where "If you are a writer, this is where you can submit stories & more!", so the archive grows from contributed fiction. ES mail is "Your private message mailbox (mail authors and other users on this site)", which lets readers write to the authors they like. Reader votes feed the Top stories ranking.
A free login opens the personal side of the site. Create sets up "a new login account (username & password)", and logged-in readers keep lists of favorite authors, favorite stories, favorite videos and favorite picture galleries. Settings promises to "make this site look & work the way YOU want!" A visitor who has not signed in is greeted as "guest", and there is a FAQ page in the menu for questions about the site.
German readers are pointed to a separate German-language stories site run alongside this one; the home page asks "Sind Sie Deutsch?" and links to it.
Where free stops, and the rules
The FanClub is the boundary. Its members get the site's Pictures, "Picture galleries with high quality pictures", and its Video, "Video clips (view here or download)", both marked "FanClub only". These are the "some pictures of nude men and women" that the home page mentions alongside the stories. The FanClub entry reads "Information about the EroticStories.com FanClub! Support this site!", and the home page has a 24/7 billing support link for paying members. No FanClub price appears on the free pages.
The billing support page explains how membership ends. The simplest route is to log in to the FanClub and use its membership options, with a password reminder for anyone who has lost theirs. Members charged directly by Artware can cancel online on the membership information page "with a few mouseclicks", or email the webmaster with their username and full name. Members charged through CCBill or Epoch cancel on those companies' customer service websites or by phone, toll free and 24/7, with "credit card info handy"; Epoch also lists toll-free lines for callers in the UK and Australia. Those numbers are "ONLY for billing questions"; general questions about the site go to the webmaster.
Alongside the stories, the site promotes other adult services: adult dating, live webcam shows with free chat, an erotic shop selling CDs, video, toys, lingerie and fetish gear, and a page of "Great links to other adult sites on the web". They sit beside the free archive as promotions, and none of them is needed to read a story.
The 18 U.S.C. 2257 notice covers the images, not the stories: it says everyone in a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct was over 18 when it was made, explains that some images are licensed from outside content producers, and lists the custodians of records who hold the documents. It says those records are available only to government and law enforcement agencies, "or challenging individuals who are able to supply documentation as required under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act". The notice adds that some of the cartoons on the site were acquired under license as well. For takedowns the site runs a Complaint page to "Request content removal from the site", and support requests go to the webmaster by email. The home page asks visitors to leave if they are under 18 or if local law bars them from reading sex stories. The site does not describe how stories are checked before they go up.
Who it suits and who it does not
It suits a reader who wants free written erotica sorted by orientation, with a straight, a gay, a lesbian and a bisexual section each browsable by category, author, date and reader ranking. It suits a reader who follows particular writers, through the author list, the interviews and the private mailbox, and a writer looking for a place to submit fiction.
It does not suit someone who wants free pictures or video, since both are for FanClub members. The dating, cam and shop links run through the menu on every page, and the site publishes no story count.
Its strength is a straightforward free archive with a long history, organized by readership and ranked by the people who read it.
