What the site is
The European Girls Adult Film Database, shortened to EGAFD on its own pages, is a free English-language reference database of female performers from continental Europe and the films they appeared in, browsable by letter with no price, plan or paid section anywhere on the site. Alongside the database it runs a members forum for fans and people in the industry, and its FAQ answers the question of whether it sells videos with a plain "No". The home page calls it "the premier resource on the topic of European female performers in adult films" and gives its scale as 29820 film titles and 20575 actresses. There is no video or photo library of its own: the home page sends anyone after a specific film to the video suppliers in its links section, and the FAQ describes the site as purely a resource for finding information on continental performers and their films.
The free offer
Browsing runs on two alphabetical indexes. The home page carries an A to Z bar for actresses and a second A to Z bar for films, and those letter bars are the way into the data. The film notes use shorthand for scene types, and the FAQ carries a glossary of the most frequent abbreviations, so an unfamiliar term can be looked up on the site itself.
Coverage follows the compiler's own emphasis, and the about page is open about it. Films with a plot are preferred over gonzo and other plotless titles, and the page admits to "a bias towards French films" that reflects what the compiler knows rather than a preference. The site presents itself as a complement to two other film databases and, to cut down the work, generally leaves out appearances already listed in one of them, which in practice means American films and releases of the Private label. A few exceptions are made, for an alternative title in another language or a performer with only a handful of American appearances. A visitor coming from a European or French angle finds the most here.
The film criteria sit in the FAQ. A hardcore title is listed where one or more of its actresses meets the site's criteria, and the FAQ sets out what it counts as hardcore. It also includes many softcore films and performers who never worked in hardcore, because the line between the two was blurred in the 70s and early 80s: many films were made in more than one version, some softcore films were later re-edited with hardcore scenes, and in some cases nobody knows whether a hardcore version exists. Listing the softcore side helps identify other actresses by elimination, as the site puts it.
The forum is the second half of the free offer and the reason the site also works as a community. Registration takes a forum name and an email address, and a randomly generated password is emailed out, which the member can change from the profile page. Each name and each address can hold only one profile, and the FAQ warns that anyone found running more than one risks having all of them deleted. A profile opens the European Girls forum, meant for fans to talk to each other, fans to reach people in the industry and the industry to reach fans, and an off-topic forum shared with the companion British database, which keeps 2 months of messages on view. Discussion of softer films than the database lists is encouraged there, because it can lead to new entries, and the European Girls forum is also the place for links to pictures of continental models. Members can hide their email address from visitors, link one website in a signature with a line saying how they are connected to it, and add a profile picture hosted on an outside image host, with the FAQ walking through the steps. Posts accept simple tags for links, images, bold, italics and quotes.
Where free stops, and the rules
There is no paid tier to describe. The site lists no premium membership, token system or subscription, the FAQ calls it a noncommercial site, and it promises not to spam members or pass their details to a third party. The site says nothing about advertising.
Names follow stated rules. The site lists a name only if it has appeared in the credits of a film, video or TV program, or if it believes the name was used in other modeling work. A name is removed when the performer asks, and also when an agent or producer says she would not want it used. A real name sent in by email that was never used as a stage name stays off the site, and real names or personal details posted to the forum are removed, even if the performer later turns out not to mind. The site describes itself as neither a model agency nor a directory of current models, and it keeps retired performers' pages as historical reference, disguising identity where discretion calls for it.
The forum rulebook is long and specific. Posting personal information about models is called unacceptable, questions about what a retired model does now are likely to be removed, and references to escort services are not allowed. Naming and shaming individuals or companies is removed, though a general warning carrying the poster's email address is accepted. Trading copies of videos that are easy to buy, links to file sharing networks and requests for pay site passwords are all banned, while copying old tapes that cannot be bought from authorized sources is allowed as preservation. Posters who hide behind an anonymizing service are blocked as they become known, posts may not be written all in capitals, a post may be bumped back up once, and the same message may not be posted across several forums. Phone numbers can be edited out of posts. All posts must be in English, or carry an adequate English translation of any other language, or they are edited or removed. Questions about deleted posts go to the moderators by email, not to the forum.
The forum hosts no uploads: pictures in posts and profiles must sit on an outside host and be linked in. The site publishes no record-keeping or DMCA page and no description of how it checks the performers it lists.
The about page credits the work to one compiler with help from many contributors and collectors, and it names no operating company. The footer carries a copyright line from 2000 to 2026 and says the site must be consulted before any of its material is reproduced.
Who it suits and who it does not
It suits a reader tracing one European performer's filmography, a reader working through French-leaning titles from the 70s and 80s, and someone who wants what the about page calls a resource of "historical as well as current reference", including softcore work it lists to help identify performers. It also suits a member who wants to talk about continental performers and their films in English, on a forum with a clear rulebook.
It does not suit someone who wants to watch. The site carries no footage, and finding a film means going to the suppliers in its links section. It does not suit a reader after current models, because the site says it is not a directory of them, or a reader after American studio films, which it mostly leaves out.
The about page is direct about its limits. "This database is, and always will be, far from complete," it says, and it warns that "there will also be many errors and duplication of actress' pages," because much of the data came from supplier websites and box covers, and an unidentified alias can make one performer appear twice. The home page adds that errors are corrected as and when the site is told about them, and corrections from people who have seen the films are welcome. That candor is the strength: a free, text-only reference that sells nothing, says where its data came from and says plainly what it leaves out.
